# Connect Feishu (docs / sheets): confirm twice in the browser

When the workshop reads or writes Feishu docs, spreadsheets, Bitable tables and wikis (writing a report into a Feishu doc, importing Feishu material into the knowledge base, the creator sync sheet, the task table, record destinations, logging "ask a person" into a sheet), it uses **your own Feishu account**. Click once on the Connections page and confirm twice in the browser: no bot to create, no permissions to enable in the developer console.

## How to connect

1. Open the Connections page, find **Feishu docs / sheets**, and click **Connect Feishu**. The first time, the workshop downloads Feishu's command-line tool to this computer (the card shows progress).
2. The card shows a link and opens it in the browser (if it does not open, click "Open link" on the card, or scan the QR code with Feishu). **You confirm twice:**
   - **First: create a "personal app".** Confirm in Feishu to create an app that belongs only to you. It is not a bot, you do not enter an App ID or App Secret, and no admin approval is needed.
   - **Second: authorize.** Confirm that the workshop may access **docs, Drive, wikis, spreadsheets and Bitable** as you.
3. After both confirmations, go back to the workshop. The card shows **Connected** and your Feishu account name.

It takes about one to two minutes. To back out, click **Cancel** on the card; no half-finished connection is left behind.

## What you see once connected

- The card on the Connections page shows **Connected**, your Feishu account, and when the authorization expires.
- From then on, anything that reads or writes Feishu docs / sheets is done as you: reports are created in your own "My space", and whether a doc or sheet can be opened depends on whether **your Feishu account** can open it.
- The workshop only touches a document or sheet when you ask it to read or write that one.

## Does the authorization expire?

Yes. Feishu authorizations **lapse after 7 days without use**. The workshop renews it once a day, so as long as the workshop is running you do not need to do anything.

If the computer is off for a long time, or the authorization is revoked on Feishu's side, it expires. Then **a notice appears under the bell, and the card on the Connections page says it needs reconnecting**. Click **Connect Feishu** and confirm once more in the browser (you do not need to recreate the personal app).

## Switch account or disconnect

- **Switch Feishu account**: click **Switch account** on the card and confirm with the new account in the browser. Documents already created under the old account stay in the old account's space.
- **Disconnect**: click **Disconnect**. The workshop removes the authorization from this computer and no longer touches your Feishu documents. Documents already written stay as they are. To revoke it completely, you can also remove the personal app's authorization inside Feishu.

## What if a doc or sheet will not open?

The workshop opens things **as you**, so "no permission" means **your Feishu account cannot open that file**. Ask the owner of the doc or sheet to add you as an editor (the **Share** button, top right). A file from another company can usually be read as long as you can open it in Feishu yourself; writing needs edit access.

## How is this related to the Feishu bot under Chat channels?

They are two separate things:

| | What it does | Where to set it up |
|---|---|---|
| **Feishu bot** | Messages: colleagues DM it or @-mention it in a group, and "ask a person" sends DMs or asks in a group | Settings → Chat channels, see [Feishu bot](https://agentsws.com/en/docs/im-feishu/) |
| **Feishu docs / sheets** (this article) | Reads and writes docs, sheets and wikis | Connections page, with your own account |

- If you only want the workshop to read and write Feishu docs / sheets, **you do not need a bot**.
- If you want colleagues to chat with it inside Feishu, you still need the bot.
- If you already enabled document permissions on the bot app earlier, **that route stays as a fallback**: for docs / sheets the workshop first checks whether this article's connection exists, and only falls back to the bot app if it does not. Connecting this route is the simpler choice.

## Troubleshooting

- **"Feishu is not connected yet"**: not connected, or the authorization expired. Click **Connect Feishu** on the Connections page.
- **The browser did not open**: click "Open link" on the card, or scan the QR code with Feishu.
- **Still not connected after both confirmations**: wait a few seconds in the workshop; if it still fails, click **Cancel** and then **Connect Feishu** again.
- **"No permission"**: see "What if a doc or sheet will not open?" above.
