# Connect WeCom (docs / sheets): scan one code

When the workshop reads or writes WeCom docs, smart docs and online sheets (writing a report into a WeCom doc, importing material into the knowledge base, record destinations), it uses **your own WeCom account**.

## How to connect

1. Open the Connections page, find **WeCom docs / sheets**, and click **Connect WeCom**. The first time, the workshop downloads WeCom's official command-line tool to this computer (the card shows progress).
2. A QR code appears on the card. Scan it with **WeCom on your phone** and confirm (valid for 5 minutes). WeCom creates a personal "smart bot" for the authorization.
3. No need to come back and click anything: the card turns **Connected** and shows your name.

## Privacy: what the workshop sends to WeCom

- The workshop uses WeCom's **official** command-line tool (`wecom-cli`), pinned to a version and checked against its published checksum before use.
- This official tool reports **the name of the program calling it** (that is, Agents Workshop) to WeCom to help them troubleshoot. **It only reports the program name; it never uploads your document content.** WeCom's official build does this by default and the workshop cannot turn it off.
- Your sign-in credentials are encrypted on this computer by the tool itself; the workshop never reads, stores or sends them.

## What writing to WeCom looks like

- No link: a new **smart doc** (WeCom's default "doc") is created in your own documents.
- A link to an existing doc: writing the same report again **replaces the whole doc with the new content**, only through the official tool. **The browser is never used to edit an existing doc.**
- Published smart-doc links (`page.weixin.qq.com`) are read-only; give the edit link instead.
- This version can't create docs in a chosen folder yet, and doesn't read or write smart sheets.

## Disconnect / switch account

Click **Disconnect** on the card: the workshop deletes this brand's WeCom credentials on this computer. Docs already written stay. **Switch account** = disconnect, then scan again.

## FAQ

- **"WeCom isn't connected yet"**: not connected, or the authorization lapsed. Scan again on the Connections page.
- **"No permission" after scanning**: your company's admin may have restricted members from AI features; ask them to allow it in the WeCom admin console.
